Maharashtra government has directed all the Municipal Corporations to seize the unclaimed vehicles in their limits. Accordingly, Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has started working in this direction. The Corporation will identify the unclaimed vehicles in the civic limits and will serve notices to the vehicle owners; if they do not respond to the notices, Corporation will seize these vehicles.
It has warned that cases will be filed against such vehicle owners. The Corporation, city police department and RTO are working together to conduct this drive in the city.
The unclaimed vehicles parked on roads, under bridges, flyovers and other places are being identified by the departments. The notice will be served to these vehicles from today onwards till March 22, 2020. After notices, if there is no response received from the owners the vehicles will be seized by the Corporation.
The Corporation will start vehicle confiscation from March 23, 2020. It has requested all Nashikites, vehicles owners and garage owners to identify their vehicles and take them in possession before notices are served or before the vehicles get seized. Once the vehicles are seized, cases will be filed by the Corporation.
