Kisan Sabha stages agitations opp district collectorate


Nashik: The strike called by farmers continued for 5th day yesterday. They called for Maharashtra Bandh on Monday.
Various organisations took to the streets in Nashik and gave their support to the strike. Nashik district Kisan Sabha staged agitations opposite the district collectorate to press for loan waiver to the farmers and memorandum was given to Resident Deputy District Collector Ramdas Khedkar.

Agitators raised anti-government slogans. Various demands to write loan remark from 7/12 extract, free farmers from debt completely, to implement recommendation of Swaminathan Commission, to provide minimum support price considering additional 50% profit, make land upto four acres in the name of farmers with stricter implementation of forest rights act, stricter implementation of food security act, to waive off electricity bill, cancel memorandum between Maharashtra and Gujarat states in 2010 and stop water of river flowing to western side and provide this water to the district and drought prone area were made.

President of Kisan Sabha Kisan Gujar, Sunil Malusare, Baburao Dhongde and farmers took part in the agitations.
