Kalagram to get ready in two months: Bhujbal
Nashik: The long pending work of the Kalagram will be finished in the next two months. On the backdrop of Delhi Haat, Kalagram will be made available for the women self-help groups for selling their different products. They can sell their different types of products under one roof, said state Food and Civic Supplies and District Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal.
He said that Kalagram will be made available for these women self-help groups for a lifetime. He was speaking at Dongre Vasti Gruh ground on Sunday. An exhibition of products made by the women self-help groups and rural artisans.
The exhibition named ‘Godai’ has been organized under Maharashtra State Rural Jeevan Unnati Abhiyan by divisional commissionarate and district rural development Nashik. On the occasion Bhujbal target the previous government and said that the project like Kalagram which was 95 percent complete was stranded by Bharatiya Janata Party-led government.
Kalagram will now be developed on the lines of Delhi Haat to help the women self-help groups. It will be the first of its kind project in the state. Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), Nashik official said that the basic infrastructure is ready with us.
The interior work of the building is remaining with the outside compound wall. The building has been grasped by thick vegetation as it was closed for almost five years. The electric fixture, wires have also been stolen by the burglars.
It will be ready by a maximum of two months. With the announcement, the women self-help groups will be getting their own place for selling their products. The move is hoped to help the economy of the district as well.
