NASHIK: At least 11 people were injured, three of them seriously, when a private (kaali-pivli) passenger jeep they were travelling in crashed into a stationary Eicher truck on Mumbai-Agra national highway at Adgaon Tappa Shivar in Chandwad taluka of the district on Wednesday morning.
A jeep carrying the passengers from Nashik to Malegaon rammed into a truck parked at the side of the road at around 10.30 am, injuring 11 passengers including three women.
On getting information about the accident, a Chandwad police team rushed to the spot and summoned an ambulance for ferrying injured persons to hospitals.
Injured persons have been admitted at the Chandwad rural hospital and from there they were later shifted to the Malegaon general hospital and Nashik civil hospital for treatment, police said. After the incident, the truck driver fled from the spot.
