Heavy rainfall in Malegaon; Trees uprooted

NASHIK :

Though Nisarg cyclone weakened in Malegaon, the city witnessed heavy rainfall and trees were uprooted at many places. Water logging was also reported in low lying areas.

Trees in Shitala Mata Nagar in Camp area of the city were uprooted and fell on electricity cable. After getting the news disaster management team of Municipal Corporation rushed there and removed trees aside and restored the electricity supply.

A tree was also uprooted on the road in Salam Chacha Road Ashanagar Kabristan. The team also removed the tree from the road and cleared it.

Rainwater entered the control cell along city police station. A nullah was clogged in Azad Nagar area due to waste. Sanitary workers reached the spot and removed the waste to clear the nullah.
Manmad witnesses crop loss

Nisarg cyclone hit Manmad city and rural area. Trees were uprooted. Onion storages were damaged and standing crops were also damaged. As electricity poles fell due to wind speed, electricity supply was snapped for whole night. MSEDCL officials and employees were working to restore the supply.

The cyclone reached Manmad on Wednesday evening. Residents of Manmad witnessed heavy rainfall accompanied by strong wind after 9 pm.
