General meeting of ZP may be stormy
Nashik: The draw of lots to decide reservation of president post of Zilla Parishad will be held on Tuesday and a general meeting of Zilla Parishad has been called on the same day. This can be the last meeting of the current office bearers. In the meantime, as members have made preparations to ask a question to officials over the unspent fund in various departments, this meeting is likely to be stormy.
In the previous meeting, it came to light that the highest fund of the construction department has remained unspent. It was stated that the fund of women and child welfare department and gram panchayat department has remained unspent. Chairperson Single and other office bearers asked chief executive officer Bhuvneshwari S over this and trapped them.
It also came to light that schemes in some departments did not get approval. It was stated that there was a need to call a general meeting for this. Office bearers then immediately decided to call a general meeting on Tuesday (Nov 19). As the extended tenure of four months of current Zilla Parishad chairperson is coming to an end on December 23, election to elect new chairperson is likely to be held before this.
Fund of Rs 83 cr returned to govt On one side, the fund of Rs 83 crore in the financial year 2017-18 was returned to the government, it has come to light that only 60% fund in the financial year 2018-19 has been spent so far. Sangle had recently conducted a meeting of department heads over this. A review of received and unspent funds in 2017-18 and 2018-19 was taken division wise in it.
It was informed that an unspent fund of Rs 83 crore in 2017-18 was returned to the government. It was also informed that of the total fund of Rs 468.50 crore received in 2018-19, Rs 238 crore (60%) was spent. It was made it clear that fund for the financial year 2019-20 has not received.
