Ganesh mandals should help flood affected, Mayor urges
Nashik: Western Maharashtra is facing a huge problem due to major floods. Everyone should come forward to help the flood affected. While celebrating Ganeshotsav, public Ganesh mandals in the city need to provide them a helping hand, urged Mayor Ranjana Bhansi.
A meeting with office-bearers of Ganesh mandals in the city was organised on Friday afternoon in record hall at NMC headquarter.
Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishna Game, deputy mayor Prathamesh Gite, NMC standing committee chairperson Uddhav Nimse, house leader Satish Sonawane, BJP group leader Jagdish Patil, former standing committee chairperson Himgauri Adke-Aher, other office bearers and corporators were present.
The Mayor stated that cooperation will be extended to give permissions and slove related problems in connection with Ganeshotsav in the city. “Guidelines have been prepared for Ganeshotsav as per orders by the High Court. and it is expected for all to follow them. NMC will provide its cooperation in addressing the difficulties of mandals”, Mayor Bhanasi assuted. She also urged that immerssion of Lord Ganesh idols should be done in artificial ponds.
Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishna Game stated that General Body Meeting has approved the guidelines prepared for Ganeshotsav. It is mandatory to follow rules and conditions in them. Everyone should see that no one will face inconvenience while celebrating Ganeshotsav. Nashikites should resolve that to donate Lord Ganesh idol and not to immerse a single idol in Godavari river to make it free from pollution.
This message should go to the entire state, he suggested. Officials have been instructed to take note of the suggestions by office bearers of the Mandals. Mandals should set up their decorations on the subjects of plastic, cleanliness and other social issues.
