Future of the country is in good hands: Ware

NASHIK:

“The youngsters who came on the road to protest against the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) have made me believe that the future of this country is in safe hands.

The youngsters without any leadership protested against this draconian law. The leadership has only one role left, is to guide them and groom them”, stated social activist Subhash Ware in Nashik on Friday.

A lecture of Ware was organized at Hutatma Smarak, on CAA and NRC. On the occasion, he said that it is not true that it will affect the Muslims, in actual it will affect each and every citizen of this country.

Everyone will have to prove their citizenship to the government which they have elected. The Constitution says that only the citizens can cast a vote in the election. The CAA and NRC say that the electoral voting card will not be considered as citizenship proof.

The question raises here is then who will decide about the citizenship, as the government is elected by the people who are not considered as citizens.  He further added that this law will put a wrong milestone for the country as well as for democracy.

The law will make the impression that on the basis of the religion the law can be made in a country like India. It is unconstitutional and it is against the basic structure of the Constitution. Every citizen has a right to protest against the law which is unconstitutional.

The program was hosted by Nitin Mate and the vote of thanks was proposed by Swapnil Ghiya. On the occasion Raju Desale, Padmakar Ingale, Nissar Patel, Pralhad Mistri, Kiran Mohite, Mahadev Khude, Adv Aasif Shaikh and others were present.
