Four killed, over 12 passengers injured in bus-truck collision
Nashik: Four people were killed and more than 12 persons were injured in a head-on collision between a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus and truck on Vinchur-Prakasha highway at the foothills of Bhavadbari Ghat in Deola taluka of the district on Tuesday afternoon.
An MSRTC Nandurbar-Nashik bus (MH 20 BL 2310) on way to Nashik from Nandurbar at around 12.30 noon, collided head-on with a truck (TN 52 J1055) loaded with clothes, coming from opposite direction at the bottom of Bhavadbari Ghat, in which four people were killed and more than 12 passengers were injured, including MSRTC bus driver.
BJP MLA Dr Rahul Aher, Deola police and the local villagers rushed to the spot and immediately extricated the dead bodies from the bus and admitted the injured passengers in general hospital at Malegaon and civil hospital in Nashik.
The deceased were identified as Rahul Rajaram Deore (23, resident of Satana), Deepak Sadashiv Kulkarni (45, resident of Chitalvedh, taluka Akola, dist Ahmednagar), Kanchan Naresh Lunkad (Jain), resident of Sakri; and Sunanda Bhatu Mahire (resident of Chhadvel, taluka Sakri).
