Forest dept creates awareness about tree conservation


Nashik : A special Jagruti tableau prepared by forest department with an objective to create awareness among people about expansion of forest area in Maharashtra under tree conservation drive, arrived in Nashik. Awareness about environment conservation and tree plantation was created among citizens through the tableau. In addition, names were registered online for Harit Sena.

Forest department officials flagged off the tableau at Golf Club ground to start the awareness drive. Deputy conservator of forest, Nashik western department T Beula, deputy forest conservator Ramanujam (east), divisional officer V T Ghule, social forestry department’s Sudhir Walvi, forest range officer Prashant Khairnar, Vriksha Mitra Shekhar Gaikwad, forest department officials and employees were present.

In second phase of tree plantation in state, 4 crore saplings will be planted from July 1 to 7. Information about tree planation, conservation, Harit Sena, hello forest and various schemes were given through visuals to the citizens. Names were also registered for membership of Harit Sena. Responding to this youths registered their names.

The tableau reached Trimbakeshwar, Kartuli and reached Pandav Leni area thereafter to create awareness. Guidance about tree plantation was provided to the citizens at both the places.
