Fire breaks out at tyre godown


Old Nashik: Hundreds of tyres gutted after fire to a tyre godown in Rahenumanagar on Wadala Road. Loss worth Rs. 20 lakh was reported. Fortunately, there was no human casualty. 5 fire tenders had brought the fire under control after efforts for one-and-half hour. According to sources, the fire was broke out after electricity wire fell on the godown.

The fire in the tyre godown owned by Attar brothers besides Rahenuma school, near Rahenumanagar corner at Wadala Road had broken out around 6 pm on Sunday. The electricity wire fell on the godown after strong wind. Hundreds of tyres in the godown had caught fire.

As smoke on large scale was billowing out of the godown, youths in the area had started rescue work. Thousands of people had gathered there. Fire tenders had arrived there after some time. Fire brigade personnel were succeeded in dousing the fire after one-and-half hour. There was a stock of rickshaw, car, motorcycle and truck tyres in the godown. Owners claimed that loss is worth Rs. 20 lakh.

ACP Raju Bhujbal, former corporator Yashwant Nikule, Haji Saleem Mirza and others inspected the spot and provided their cooperation in rescue work.
