Efforts by NMC to empower poor, backward people: Krishna


Nashik : The skill development programme will be conducted on large scale in municipal area and employment opportunities will be made available after empowering poor and backward class students, stated Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Krishna.

He was speaking as chief guest during felicitation of meritorious students of SSC in NMC schools, distribution of appointment letters to beneficiaries who received employment under skill training programme, disbursal of mobile fund to ALF and women saving groups and guidance workshop for chief anganwadi employees and helpers which were organised by NMC women and child welfare committee at Raosaheb Thorat hall.

Mayor Ranjana Bhansi presided over the programmes, Deputy Mayor Prathmesh Gite, BJP group leader Sambhaji Morusksar, women and child welfare committee chairperson Saroj Ahire, house leader Dinkar Patil, deputy chairperson Kaveri Ghuge, Nayana Gangurde, Priyanka Ghate, Bhagyashri Dhomse, Shital Malode, Samina Memon, Poonam Mogre and Deputy Municipal Commissioner Rohidas Dorkulkar were present on dais.

The Municipal Commissioner informed about his experiences he got while implementation of skill development at Gadchiroli as the District Collector. Mayor Bhansi stated that help is being provided for women and child welfare department for conduction of various projects for empowerment of women. The Mayor, Municipal Commissioner and others felicitated 20 meritorious girl-students who received above 75% marks in SSC examination and felicitated 37 beneficiaries who got jobs after completion of sill development programme and distributed appointment letters to them.

Thereafter, district child project officer Sunil Dusane provided his guidance to anganwadi employees. Chairperson of women and child welfare committee Saroj Ahire made the introductory speech, whereas Deputy Municipal Commissioner Rohidas Dorkulkar proposed the vote of thanks.
