Nashik : The effect of cyclone Ockhi has been seen everywhere in state yesterday. Farmers are worried after the district witnessed rainfall. 125.5 mm rainfall was recorded in the district yesterday. Grape crop, onion and vegetable crops in city as well as Niphad, Sinnar, Manmad, Dindori, Igatpuri, Yeola and Deola have been affected by this rainfall. The farmers in the district will suffer revenue loss worth crores of rupees due to cyclone Ockhi.
The city recorded 2 mm rainfall from 8 am to 5 pm. As there is possibility that the situation is likely to remain in next 24 hours, citizens should take precaution, urged the district disaster department. The rainfall in Nashik district was started after 4 am.
As feeders of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd were non-functional, electricity snapped for around 7-8 hours in most parts of the city. Citizens had to face undeclared load-shedding. The technical squad of MSEDCL undertook feeder repairing work immediately, it was succeeded in restoring electricity supply in some parts, but electricity supply could not restore in some parts at Gangapur Road, College Road and Ashok Stambh area till 6 pm.
