Victory of farmers celebrated in district

NASHIK: Farmers, trade unions, and student union office bearers expressed happiness over the victory of farmers in the 377-day agitation in Delhi. Kisan Sabha Secretary of State Raju Desale was in the chair. In Nashik district, all the organisations had come together to create awareness against the anti-farmer law of the central government. Even in Delhi, thousands of farmers had gone from Nashik twice. The farmer’s strike of 2017 is also inspiring in Nashik district. Long March Mumbai has become historic.

Taking this into consideration and taking inspiration, it was decided to salute the martyrs and celebrate the victory of the farmers’ agitation in all the market committees of Nashik district. The Maharashtra government also expressed happiness over the repeal of the Farmers Act. However, there are reports that the Maharashtra government will implement anti-labor laws in the state. This was protested by the committee. It was warned that at the national level, at the state level, and the local level, workers and farmers’ organisations will come together and carry out intense agitation against this.

In this context, a joint meeting of trade unions and farmers’ unions of Nashik district will be held. The Andolan Shetkari Kamgar Vidyarthi Yuvak Sanghatana in Delhi should come together and unite to fight the battle. Sitabai Tadvi from the Nandurbar district has been martyred in the Delhi Farmers’ Movement. Bank staff strike was also supported at the time. It was appealed that the government should take immediate action on the ST workers’ agitation.

The meeting paid homage to the martyred farmers’ movement. The meeting was guided by Kisan Sabha leaders Sunil Malusare, and Kumar Aurangabadkar, Chhatrabharati’s Devidas Hazare, Prajakta Kapdane, and others were present.
