With an entire week dedicated to celebrate Valentine’s Day starting from February 7 to 13, the week holds special significance on each day eventually marking the February 14.

The celebration of love adding up to the curated lineup of gifts and the extraordinary ambience made to religiously fervour the day with an immense display of enthusiasm for Valentine’s Day all over the city has taken a seat back.
Losing its allure, this day has disappointed the market bearers too highlighting the fact of times and trends being changed gradually for this specific day.

Gone are the days the city drowned in cupid hearted notion of gifts and chocolates imploring lovers to spend money on their loved one, realizing the day being over-commercialized with the modern romantic consciousness considering the rhetorical structure of irony of love being celebrated just for a day made no sense to many, gradually losing significance of this day.

The usual hype and hullabaloo for this day in the city has collapsed observing plenty of cynicism than ever detaching from the V-day rituals. The market being stocked with gift items has failed in attracting consumers resisting the pressure to conform to Valentine’s Day ritual and expectation keeping in mind corporate exploitation it brings along fading the real values of love. With time and understanding, the pendulum has swung far in the opposite direction to a point that this day wants to be normalized as every other day and love being celebrated every day.

Just like every year, a lot of input for Valentine’s Day has been displayed at the store but due to the market breakdown, the sale even on this occasion has not reached its peak. I’m assuming the craze is gradually fading as this year we could not witness a great zest amongst people like every other year.

The entire Valentine week at the store we try to maintain the respective day’s quotient. Being our tradition to put up with the best of gifts and novelties available in market, we try our best to bring in a good variety every year for people to celebrate love overwhelmingly, but this year even with an exuberant variety at our store, it seems people aren’t really interested anymore and the impact on sales also hasn’t affected greatly.

Valentine’s day being the only day to celebrate and express love and flowers being a beautiful medium, this day and the entire week every held a great significance for us every year. No great enthusiasm is being observed amongst the people. Gradually this occasion has been normalized and gone are the days when prior orders for the day came in displaying immense excitement and now it’s all on the spot.
