Uddhav asks PM to extend lockdown till Apr 30, 2020

MUMBAI :

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend the nationwide lockdown till April 30 to contain the COVID-19 spread as, throughout the country, the positive cases have soared to more than 7,000 with Maharashtra being worst affected.

Mr Modi on Saturday held a meeting, via video conferencing, with Chief Ministers of all the states to determine the future course of action on the current lockdown in the country.

The Maharashtra Cabinet has already expressed concerns over the lifting of lockdown as the state was worst-hit with almost 1,666 positive cases so far. Among the states, Punjab and Odisha have already extended the lockdown till the end of this month.
