It has been decided to shut shops in the wake of rising number of Covid-19 patients in the area. All the shopkeepers shut their shops.

However, some shopkeepers raised their concerns while talking to Deshdoot Times.

I understand that until the vaccine is developed for Covid 19, lockdown is the need of the hour. However, irregular lockdowns are of no use as the public rushes to the market as soon as the lockdown is lifted. All of us are facing financial losses from past 4 months. The officials should either open our area completely, and ask everyone to follow precautionary measures, or shut down everything completely till the time vaccine is developed.

One of my relatives has been admitted to the hospital recently as he showed symptoms of Covid 19. He owned a general store and since all the general shops are functioning, the chances of him being affected are high. It will be better if the lockdown is extended till the time the cases are on a rise.

I think there needs to a be a complete shutdown for at least three days. All the stores including the general shops should be shut because crowd gathers near those stores, and everyone present has a high risk of getting infected. Though we have suffered heavy losses from March 2020, but I still think it’s better to shutdown the whole area completely rather than suffer from this virus.
