NASHIK: On December 3, Nashik Municipal Corporation distributed masks to the disabled on the occasion of World Disability Day. A program has been undertaken to distribute masks to the disabled in the Nashik Municipal Corporation area through the Social Welfare Department of Nashik Municipal Corporation.
Under the Divyang Welfare Scheme of Nashik Municipal Corporation, a program has been started to distribute masks to persons with disabilities who have submitted their applications for various schemes.
Divyang Day was celebrated by distributing masks. Under various welfare schemes started by Nashik Municipal Corporation for the disabled in the municipal area, masks will be distributed to the disabled persons who have submitted applications to the social welfare department of Nashik Municipal Corporation at the divisional office level.
Disability schemes by NMC
The Nashik Municipal Corporation has started 1 to 10 welfare schemes for persons with disabilities.
1. Financial assistance for cochlear lmplant surgery.
2. Financial assistance to the disabled for self employment.
3. Financial assistance for unemployed disabled.
4. Scholarship for disabled students 5. Financial assistance for gears.
6. Financial assistance for person with mental disabilities.
7. Financial assistance to the disabled for chronic diseases
8) Special financial assistance for the disabled players
All these eight and two more schemes are there in NMC. Detailed information of this scheme and its sample form are available on the website of Nashik Municipal Corporation at www.nmc.gov.in.
As per the terms and conditions of the scheme, all the disabled beneficiaries who are receiving monthly financial assistance under scheme no. 3 and scheme no. 9 and all the disabled beneficiaries who are availing the benefits should take be note that they are required to submit a ‘certificate of living’ or ‘Life Certificate’ to the social welfare office of NMC. The certificate should be submitted before December 20. The Corporation has stated that if the person fails to do so their assistance will be stopped.
