Students save a pigeon's life

NASHIK: Teacher and students succeeded in saving the life of a pigeon injured by a nylon manja. The TJ Chauhan (Bitco) Secondary School teachers noticed that the pigeon was injured and tangled in a nylon manja on the grounds of Morwadi School. They immediately brought the pigeon to the safe place of the school and fed it with water.

The students of Rashtriya Harit Sena and Eco Echo Foundation also supported this rescue of pigeons by taking care of the pigeons on the occasion. The headmaster of the school Sahebrao Ahire, supervisor Kirtikumar Gahankari, Pradip Thackeray, Dilip Muthal, Pradip Singh Patil of Harit Sena, Lata Jadhav, Sarla Sonawane and students were present on this occasion.

When contacted by wildlife department official Anand Reddy, he said that Abhijit Mahale of the Eco Echo will treat the pigeons and it should be handed over to him. Mahale reached the spot and gave primary treatment and took the pigeon, treated it and released it back to its natural habitat.
