Stones pelted at Shivshahi and ST bus

NASHIK: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation had received an ultimatum from State Transport Minister Anil Parab to end their strike or else, face severe consequences. The ultimatum’s deadline was December 13. However, in Nashik, the employees/agitators are adamant about their demands and state that no matter how strict action government takes, their strike will continue.

The agitators held placards stating, “Wo Bulata Hai Magar Jaaneka Nahi” i.e., “He’s calling, but we won’t go.” On the other hand, three cases of stone pelting (two on ST buses and one on Shivshahi bus) have come up recently. The cases have been registered against unidentified persons in the respective police station.

Shivshahi Bus

An unidentified person hurdled stones at Shivshahi Bus yesterday near State Bank Chowk, Service Road. A case has been registered against the unidentified person at Indiranagar Police Station, and the police are investigating the matter.

ST BUS

In another incident, two unidentified persons pelted stones at the ST bus and broke its glass on Monday. A case has been registered against the duo at Adgaon Police Station. According to the police, while the Lasalgaon depot bus (MH 14 BT 4556) was coming from Yeola to Nashik, two unidentified persons, on a black Activa at Aurangabad Road, near Hotel Mirchi Signal, threw stones at the bus and fled the scene. Driver Digambar Hari Agavan (age 52, Yeola resident) has lodged a complaint at Adgaon police station, and Constable Gangurde is conducting further investigation.

On Saturday, An unidentified person hurled stones at the ST Corporation’s Nashik – Kasara bus and broke the bus’s glass. The incident happened at Service Road, within the limits of Indira Nagar Police Station. According to the police, bus driver Santosh Dhande (54, Resident – Igatpuri) was on his way; to Kasara on Saturday (11th December), around 11:00 am.

An unidentified person smashed the front glass of the bus with a stone and damaged it. A case has been registered at Indiranagar police station driver Santosh Dhande’s complaint. Further investigation is being conducted by Constable Sundar Kokate under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Bamble.
