ST inching towards the road to revival

NASHIK: After slowing down the positivity rate of Corona in the district, a mumber of buses are running under the unlock relaxations. Since June 7, intrastate bus service including inter district has been started. In the last week, ST has earned Rs 1.62 crore. If bus service is started at full capacity, the revenue will increase. Initially 250 buses were released by ST Corporation, after which it has been increased to 650 buses at various places in the district and state.

Bus service has been started in Nagpur and Latur from Tuesday. Earlier, buses have been running between Nashik-Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Thane, Kalyan, Jalgaon, Dhule, Nandurbar since the last week. Initially the ST was not getting a response from the passengers, But after the unlock, there has been a gradual increase in passengers.

At present, it is seen that about 35000 passengers are traveling by ST on a daily basis. Meanwhile, ST service is getting good response in Nashik district too. Most of the buses are plying from Yeola, Sinnar, Igatpuri, Peth, Malegaon, Lasalgaon and Manmad, including talukas of Satana 40, Nandgaon 36 and Kalwan 30 buses. The ST officials informed that the service has not been started in Kolhapur as the percentage of Corona has not come down yet. The closure of religious places has also affected the revenue of the state-run public transport.
