NASHIK: On the very first day of the year, Nashikites received a piece of satisfactory news about Nashik-Shirdi connectivity. Nashik residents and those who come to Nashik for tourism will be pleased to hear that both cities will now come close with highway expansion.
The Nashik-Shirdi Travel will now take an hour and a half instead of two. The Sinnar-Shirdi four-lane highway will be reopened by the end of March. This will make it possible to reach Shirdi from Nashik in no time. Sinnar to Shirdi is a 60 km highway. Work on this highway is in its final stages. The route is expected to open for traffic in March.
Although the project is expected to be completed in October 2022, land acquisition was finished early. The work also started hustle-free and went smoothly. As a result, this highway will now open three to four months prior.
The distance from Nashik to Shirdi is 90 to 100 km. However, due to the four-laning of this road, this distance will be reduced. Land acquisition in 19 villages in Sinnar has been done for this highway. The Nashik-Pune highway will have this route in the Gurewadi area. Besides, this road will be connected to the Nagar-Manmad highway at Savlivihir Fata.
Two flyovers have been constructed on Sinnar-Shirdi highway. After Gurewadi, two flyovers will be constructed at Musalgaon MIDC. Their length will be 500 meters. Apart from this, underpasses will be constructed at Datli, Pangri, Wavi, and Pathre. In Ahmednagar district, it is being said that underpasses will be constructed at places where there is a need including Darde, Jagdefata, Savli Vihir.
Considering the number of devotees, a separate palanquin route has been constructed on this route. This route is 51 kilometers long. This route will pass through Nashik and Nagar districts. This road starts from Gurewadi, Musalgaon. Next, it will reach the shadow well. Underground roads will be constructed at various places for the convenience of passengers. It is understood that there will be underpasses at Pangri, Wavi, Khopdi, Musalgaon Fata, and Pathre.
