NASHIK: The silent agitation of Maratha Kranti Morcha will be held in Nashik on Monday (June 21) at 10 am on the ground of Raosaheb Thorat Hall. It will be led by MP Sambhaji Raje Chhatrapati People’s representatives including ministers from Nashik will be invited to take part in this agitation. This agitation will become a historic agitation, confided the office bearers of Maratha Kranti Morcha in the meeting held on Friday to discuss the planning for the silent agitation.
The meeting which was held at Varadalakshmi Lawns was attended by Maratha Kranti Morcha coordinator Karan Gaikar, Adv. Shivaji Sahane, Dutta Gaikwad, Girish Palve, Jayant Jadhav, Shivaji Chumble, Raju Desale and others. Karan Gaikar on the occasion said that the Maratha community is big. If there is unity, the movement will succeed. People’s representatives will be asked to speak and they will present their views on the Maratha reservation.
The agitation will be held between 10 am to 1 pm. It has been demanded to start Sarathi education institute, expand Annasaheb Patil Corporation to ensure that the people from the lower rung of the society will be benefitted and a governing committee should be constituted. A survey has been conducted in 23 out of 36 districts to set up hostels for students from the Maratha community. Funds have been sanctioned for the repair of the building at that places.
Their work should be done. 2,180 students of the Maratha community have been appointed to various posts. However, they have not yet been recruited. They should be recruited. The agitation will be staged to get these demands accepted. Jayant Jadhav stated, “The battle for Maratha reservation is a technical battle. Though marches were organized, there is a failure. Now we have to give the right direction to the movement by coming together.
The agitation should be done to create pressure.” Ad. Shivaji Sahane informed that the next strategy will be decided during the agitation which will be held under the leadership of MP Sambhaji Raje Chhatrapati in Nashik. He urged that the people from the Maratha community should attend the agitation in large numbers.
