Schools reopen: Students turn out despite cold

NASHIK: The first bell of school in the district rang on Monday after a 15-day break. As per the order of the district administration, classes I to XII were started in private, aided, unaided as well as English medium schools. In many schools, the school management had called the students in groups. Many schools have made online education available.

The education sector has been completely disrupted for the last two years due to the increasing prevalence of corona. Students who were annoyed by the online learning were waiting for the school to start regularly. The school-college was started after the outbreak of the second wave of corona subsided.

However, schools and colleges were again closed due to the growing threat of Omicron. The state government has once again ordered the commencement of classes I to XII, making it clear that sending children to school is not compulsory. Therefore, it was seen that the first day had some effect on the attendance of the students.

The parents preferred not to send their children to school as it was cold. Student attendance was negligible, especially in the morning session. Meanwhile, the classroom was disinfected in the backdrop of the corona, before school started. The students were undergoing a health check-up before admission. Masks and sanitizers were made mandatory for each student. Single student was allowed to seat on each bench in the classroom. Fifteen days later, there was a joy again in the school grounds.

Students arrive in bullock cart

After 15 days of online education, students returned to school. But this time the students came to the school in a bullock cart in Yeola tehsil. It a different enthusiasm was seen in the school and school administration gave them a grand welcome.

The students have appealed to keep the school running regularly, saying, “Please don’t close school now, my school is my responsibility.” Students of Jay Babaji English Medium School at Nagarsul in Yeola taluka arrived in the school in a bullock cart. On behalf of the school, all the students were welcomed by the school teachers. ‘We will follow the rules of corona’ such placards were also taken by these students in their hands.
