Nashik: A process to give free admission from 25% quota under the Right to Education (RTE) Act to children from the economically backward section, scheduled caste and disabled to private schools. Registration of the schools will be made in the first phase till February 6, while parents have to submit admission forms online from February 11.
The government has made it mandatory for private schools to give admission for children belonging to the scheduled caste category, economically backward and disabled students under 25% quota under the RTE act. The objective behind this is to bring these children into the mainstream of education.
The registration of schools will be made between February 11 to 19 for the academic year 2020-21, while parents have to submit admission forms online from the website of the education department, between February 11 to 29.
The auto-registration of those eligible schools which made their registration during the academic year 2019-20 will be made this year. However, verification of these schools will be made from the block education officer’s office level and taking into account migrated schools, schools that received minority status and minority schools, instructed the education department.
The draw of lots for school admission will be conducted between March 11 to 12. The parents of those children who get admission through this have to visit block education officer between March 16 to April 3 and to verify documents and fix admission. Thereafter process to admit students in the waiting list will be conducted.
A single draw of lots for admission
Last year the admission process under RTE quota was being on till September. As a result, the education department had to face criticism. On the backdrop of this, a single draw of lots will be conducted this time to complete the admission process in time, while four waiting lists will be published. The message will be sent to the students in the second, third and fourth waiting lists until the fulfillment of quota in the schools.
