Rs. 11 crore revenue in 2021

NASHIK: Nashik Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (NMPML), the public transport wing of Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC), has generated a whopping revenue of Rs.11,57,71,428 in 2021. The corporation introduced city buses on July 8, 2021, and since then, the service has been receiving an overwhelming response from passengers. At present, 148 (101 CNG, 47 diesel) buses are functioning on 42 routes in Nashik city. NMPML plans to increase the number to 250 (200 CNG, 50 diesel) buses; soon.

Apart from the 42 routes within NMC’s limits, the buses ply on 12 routes outside the corporation’s limits, to places like Mohadi, Sukena, Sayyed Pimpri, Girnare, Jategaon, Saikheda, Trimbakeshwar, Sinnar, Ojhar, Lakhalgaon, and others.

The six routes, Nimani to Symbiosis College, Nimani to Trimbakeshwar, Nimani to Bhagur, Nashikroad to Bardan Phata, Nashikroad to Trimbakeshwar, and Nashikroad to Ojhar, proved to be the most profitable routes till date. While five routes, Tapovan to Uttam Nagar, Nimani to Bardan Phata, Nashikroad to Ojhar (via Jail Road, Jatra Hotel), Nashikroad to Lakhalgaon, and Nashikroad to Tapovan (via Wadala, DGP Nagar), have registered the lowest earnings in 2021.

NMPML has fired ten conductors till date; due to irregularities in ticketing, lower denomination, and alcoholism. The company even fired two drivers, citing alcoholism.

Pass facility

The transport wing has issued 69,695 one-day passes, 459 three-day passes, and 166 seven-day passes from July to December. Speaking of route-specific passes, the wing issued 86 quarterly and 1,148 monthly passes in the same period. They even issued 4,689 student passes in the same period.

  • Nimani to Bhagur – Rs.62.44

  • Nashikroad to Trimbakeshwar – Rs.57.42

  • Nashikroad to Ojhar – Rs.57.42

  • Nashikroad to Bardan Phata – Rs.50.57
