Religious places may get locked again

NASHIK: The number of Omicron patients is increasing rapidly. As a result, the Union Ministry of Health has sent central teams to ten states, including Maharashtra. Also, if the number of patients in Maharashtra increases, temples can be closed again, said Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Bharati Pawar.

On her visit to Tuljapur, Union Minister Bharati Pawar took blessings at Kulswamini Tulja Bhavani Temple in Tuljapur. After that, she interacted with journalists. Looking at the current status of the outbreak of Covid, she hinted out about locking up religious places.

This time, she said, the temples could be locked against the backdrop of the increasing number of Covid patients. The Union Ministry of Health has sent central teams to ten states, including Maharashtra, against the backdrop of a sharp rise in corona patients, including Omicron.

The Union Ministry of Health has already said that the Center has handed over control of Omicron to the states to avoid confusion in the decision-making process in the second wave of Corona.

Meanwhile, central teams have been sent to Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Mizoram, Karnataka, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Punjab, the health minister said.
