Person asks bribe to install electricity meter

NASHIK: The Anti Corruption Bureau has arrested a person involved in taking bribe for installation of electricity meter. Even though an individual from Nashik had paid for the electricity meter of MSEDCL, the person who is said to be not an employee of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, asked for a bribe.

A complainant was registered online that the person had paid to get the electricity meter online, but the suspect Rahul Dnyaneshwar Pawar (resident of N52, KA1/22/10 Simhastha Nagar, New Nashik) had demanded a bribe of Rs. 1500. He was later arrested while taking bribe in front of the ACB officers at MSEDCL sub-center Shinde, taluka district Nashik office. Police are investigating the matter further.

Are MSEDCL officials involved?

How can a private person ask someone for money for a job which is related to MSEDCL. Is there any involvement of some officials or employees of MSEDCL in it? Such a question has arisen among the citizens.
