Palkhi to depart with 40 warakaris in two buses

Nashik: Shri Sant Nivruttinath Maharaj Samadhi ceremony was celebrated with religious fervour on Tuesday. Due to the lockdown, the temple was closed for warkari and devotees, hence the ceremony was held in the presence of few devotees and office bearers. Every year on this day it rains a lot but this year the rain has taken a break but it could not dampen the spirit of the ceremony which held amid Covid protocol.

Sant Nivruttinath Maharaj had taken Sanjivan Samadhi in 1216 at Trimbakeshwar on the banks of the river Pushkarani at the foothills of Brahmagiri. Since then, Samadhi ceremony is celebrated in this temple every year according to the date. Devotess threw kumkum around the temple. Rose flower basil was offered and the flowers were sprinkled. Abhang were recited.

Sant Nivattinath Maharaj Samadhi Pujan was performed by Pujari Yogiraj Gosavi and Sachita Nand Gosavi. Senior warkari Acharya Ramkrishna Maharaj Lahvitkar, Co-Charity Commissioner KM Sonawane, Adv Bhausaheb Gambhire, Municipal Chief Sanjay Jadhav, PI Ranadive were present. At this time, the palanquin (palkhi) ceremony was attended by Balkrishna Maharaj Davre and Pundalik Thete. Meanwhile, 40 Warkaris will leave for Pandharpur in two buses.
