NASHIK: With the permission of the Tree Authority Committee, a total of 50 trees have been allowed to be cut down in the private sector which are obstructing the road, said the park inspector. While on one hand plantation of trees at the right place by tree lovers in the rainy season is underway, while on the other hand, 33 trees along the road between Mauli Lawns and DGP Nagar have been axed.
It is also understood that the axe was allowed to run on a total of 50 trees, including 17 private trees. Tree lovers have expressed their displeasure over this and demanded an immediate halt to tree cutting. The tree lovers are also asking the question as to when the municipal corporation will issue a notice against tree falling. In short, the demand for an immediate halt to cutting of trees is gaining momentum in the vicinity.
