NASHIK: The ‘Mission Vatsalya’ scheme will be a ray of hope for those who have lost their parents or their livelihood in the second wave of Covid. As many as 46 schemes have been made available in Nashik district to help the beneficiaries under this scheme. An uniform informative card of these schemes have now been made available by the administration.
Beneficiaries will get the benefit of various schemes mentioned in this card. This card can be downloaded from the website; It will also be available from the tehsil office. The District Collector has created a card to make it easier for the needy to get information about these schemes.
The last two waves of the corona have caused massive loss of life in the district. The number of children who have lost one parent, mainly mother or father, is 2528, in which 238 mothers have died, while fathers of 2290 children have succumbed to COVID-19.
There are also 52 children in the district who have been orphaned due to the death of both parents due to Covid 19 and the number of widows (who have children under 18) since March 2020 due to Covid 19 is 1351.

These include Family Pension Scheme, Benefit of LIC or other insurance policies, Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana, National Family Benefit Scheme, Shravan Bal Yojana, Child Care Scheme, Gharkul, Skill Development, Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme, Apart from Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme, Shubh Mangal Samuhik Yojana Antyoday Yojana, Individual Benefit Schemes implemented by the Tribal Development Department, Individual Benefit Schemes implemented by the Department of Agriculture etc. and other schemes being implemented by NGOs.
