No weddings during weekends

Nashik: Within 20 days of putting together a five-level unlock mechanism in the state, the state government has done away with level 1 and level 2 which offered the most amount of relaxations and has made level 3 as the base.

Stricter restrictions have been brought back with the emergence of the Delta plus variant in the state. With the Friday order, there will only be three levels in the state with level 3 having the maximum relaxation.

As the number of Delta variant patients is increasing in the state, third phase restrictions have been imposed on all over the districts in the state including Nashik.

“The government has issued new guidelines under ‘Break the Chain’. However, no changes have been made in the restrictions and relaxations imposed in the district,” clarified District Collector Suraj Mandhare.

The wedding ceremonies in Nashik will be held only from Monday to Friday. Weekend weddings on Saturdays and Sundays have been banned. This order has been issued by Mandhare yesterday.

The order states that, We have already taken special precautions in the district. Therefore, the district has succeeded in maintaining its Level 3 criteria. Strict implementation will continue as per the instructions issued by the government on Friday.

If the incidence of corona increases again, the restrictions will be tightened accordingly. Citizens should observe self-restraint. This is we expect from them, said Mandhare.

Weekend lockdown in Nashik district has been maintained.
However, the last order had allowed marriages to take place on Saturdays and Sundays in the presence of few relatives.

However, from July 5, 2021, weddings will be held between Monday and Friday in the presence of only 50 relatives.
As a result, citizens who are planning a wedding next month will have to change their plan, he instructed.

All shops will remain closed on Saturday-Sunday at the end of each week. Milk, newspaper, vegetable, fruit shops will continue in the allotted time. Food vendors will only provide home delivery services. Violators will be penalized.

The malls were given permission to open in Nashik effective last week. But in just eight days, the ax of restraint has fallen on them. Crowds have not yet been contained and the possibility of stricter restrictions is expected if the number of patients continues to rise, the administration cautioned.

Districts have also been asked to ensure at least 70 per cent of their targeted population is vaccinated. There is hefty penalty for not following Covid appropriate behaviour and to not allow large gatherings and events in their areas.
