NMC helps in returning Rs 5.55 cr to patients

NASHIK: Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has helped in returning Rs 5.55 crore to Covid patients, which has been charged excessively by private hospitals in the city. NMC has appointed auditors to check the bills by private hospitals to curb exorbitant charging of bills from patients. NMC appointed auditors had checked 24,769 bills so far.

The auditors reduced the excessive charge by private hospitals from patients and returned to the patients. The bills regarding mediclaim is not being checked and the bills which are charged as per government rates are checked NMC opposition leader Ajay Boraste had brought this matter to light first. He had given evidences showing that private hospitals were charging excessive bills from patients. Taking note of this, the then Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishna Game had ordered to display boards mentioning rates at each private hospital.
