New Year, New Norms

NASHIK: The amended directions/orders issued by the State Disaster Management Authority that came into force from 31st December, 2021, from 0000 hrs are applicable in the district as it is. Further formal orders will be issued soon, informed by District Collector Suraj Mandhare on the eve of New Year.

Citing spread of COVID-19 virus especially with the emergence of the Omicron variant, the state government said that it is imperative to take certain urgent measures to prevent and contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Accordingly, the State Government in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 2 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, and all other enabling provisions of The Disaster Management Act, 2005, has amended the order to take the following measures immediately throughout the state to more effectively check the transmission of the Covid-19 virus.

In exercise of the powers conferred under The Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Chairperson, State Executive Committee, State Disaster Management Authority has issued the directions, that came into force from 31st December, 2021 from 0000 hrs.

  • In the case of Marriages, whether in enclosed spaces or open to sky spaces, the maximum number of attendees shall be restricted to 50 persons.

  • In case of any gathering or programme, whether social, cultural, political or religious. whether in enclosed spaces or open to sky spaces, the maximum number of attendees shall be restricted to 50 persons.

  • In the case of last rites, the maximum number of attendees shall be restricted to 20 persons.

  • In any part of the state which are tourist spots or other places that attract large congregations of people such as beaches, open grounds ete. the Competent Authority concerned, in addition to the restrictions vide (e) Department of Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation No: DMU/2020/CR. 92/DisM-1, dated 24th December, 2021. may as deemed appropriate, impose Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973.

  • All other existing instructions already in place shall continue to be in force till further orders.

Covid Status- Cases rising

With the recovery of 46 patients and detection of 133 new cases with one case of death, the Covid-19 recovery rate of the district and NMC limits is currently hovering around 98 per cent ie, 97.75% and 98.12% respectively. As per the report released by Dr Anant Pawar, District Nodal Officer (EOC) District Civil Hospital, Nashik, 86 new cases detected in NMC limits which is a big concern. Thus the tally of the infected patients under the NMC limits has reached to 233004. The positivity ratio is currently stands at 3.10%. No active patients detected in rural areas of Kalwan and Peth. While 404649 patients have registered recovery so far, the pandemic tally of the district has mounted to 413978.
