New indigenous ventilator developed

NASHIK: Two industrialists have jointly developed an indigenous ventilator considering the shortage of ventilators experienced during the second wave of Covid-19. However, the project is likely to be stalled due to a delay in getting permission from the concerned medical department to start production. Retired Colonel Sarang Kashikar, director, KVI Control Systems, and Yash Sangve, Deep Designs have jointly developed the Indigenous ventilator named Vayudoot.

The production of the ventilator will be started after the permission of the central government’s medical equipment department after conducting technical checks and other related things. The cost of the ventilator is not decided yet. Meanwhile, the ventilator works on four-bar air and four-bar oxygen. At present, it operates in various modes such as volume control mode, pressure control mode, assist volume control mode, assist pressure control mode, SIMV (P&V) and pressure support mode.
