Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has given the nod for operationalising the newly set up COVID-19 testing facility at the Dr Vasantrao Pawar Medical College and Research Centre situated in Adgaon of Nashik district, stated Collector Suresh Mandhare on Tuesday.
The lab will start functioning in the coming few days, he added. District Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal and Deputy Speaker of Legislative Assembly Zirwal Narhari were constantly making efforts for instituting a lab here as the samples are being sent to Dhule and Pune for testing. Hence, delaying diagnosis and subsequent treatment of the pandemic cases.
After securing the Centre’s approval, the lab was set up in a short span of time through the relentless endeavour of the Assistant Collector and Divisional Officer Kumar Ashirwad and his team.
