MSRTC buses ready to hit roads

NASHIK: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) or ST buses, which were closed due to strict restrictions, are now ready to run once again for ‘passenger service’. Movements have been initiated to start MSRTC, which is the lifeline of the state. Since MSRTC is closed, cleaning and maintenance of dusty vehicles are being done. Considering the rainy season, leaky roofs, faulty windows, driver’s front wipers are being given priority.

It is understood that this precaution is being taken to avoid inconvenience to passengers as MSRTC trips will start in the next few days. The MSRTC services were shut down everywhere due to the Corona outbreak. Now that the Corona situation is under control, bus service is likely to resume.

Meanwhile, it is understood that the local administrations of various places have started contacting the local MSRTC officials to resume MSRTC services in the villages and talukas within their respective districts. At present, the MSRTC bus service will be available only for essential passengers, who will require strict adherence to the government’s strict restrictions while travelling, the MSRTC said.
