Modi’s tour: NMC readies to pay cost if govt refuses Rs. 30 cr spent on development works

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Nashik city last month to inaugurate the National Youth Festival. Against this background, about Rs. 30 crores were spent on development works and repairs. The Nashik Municipal Corporation will make a demand to the government to pay this cost. However, it is ready to pay it if the government refuses to take responsibility. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Ashok Karanjkar has approved this proposal in the General Body Meeting.
In the last month, the 27th National Youth Festival was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi at Tapovan ground. Due to his visit, the Municipal Corporation did the development works in the city and cleaned the entire city.
For this, the works like painting and beautification of dividers, construction of parking lot and levelling of land in Tapovan area, repair and painting of bridges, levelling of ring roads, directional boards, installation of cat’s eyes, application of thermoplastic paint, road markers and installation of sign boards, development works at Godaghat, barricading of the public rally place, repair and cleaning of public toilets, pandal, curtains and green carpet in the Kalaram temple, drawings of scenes from Ramayan scenes on the walls in the city etc. were done through contractors.
