It has come to light that an educated unemployed youth blackmailed a young woman who is a computer engineer by taking advantage of the acquaintance they made while studying together in an English medium school. It is suspected that he went to the Gulf country with Rs 40 lakh as ransom.
According to the complaint filed by the victim, a case in connection with this has been registered at Mumbai Naka police station. The name of the suspect is Abhijit Narendra Ahire (age 31, resident of Govindnagar, Mumbai Naka, Nashik).
According to the complaint filed by the 30-year-old girl in this incident, she was studying in New Era English Medium School in Govindnagar area. During the period of 2007 to 2008, the two got to know each other and became friends. It also turned into love. While completing her education, the victim also got a job as a computer engineer. Abhijit and she were in touch while she was working.
Meanwhile, Abhijit took this opportunity to extort money from his girlfriend by initially giving the reason of poverty and other reasons. The victim was afraid and gave money to him. Sometimes she borrowed money and also took money from her friends and relatives giving fake reasons.
During the same period he molested and blackmailed her. He extorted money from her, threatening to ‘morph her private photos and make them viral’. The victim then filed a complaint with the police. Police sub-inspector Pankaj Sonawane is investigating into the matter.
