NASHIK (MALEGAON) :

The residents of Malegaon have fully cooperated with the government and local administration to combat the epidemic like Covid-19 which has left the entire city in disarray. In this holy month of Ramadan, the people have set a good example by praying and observing fast at home and eventually taking care of the entire city by following social distancing norms on the backdrop of stringent restrictions.

The fast recovery rate in Covid-19 cases is the result of mobilized efforts of people, government, and administration together with the Covid-19 warriors, said district collector Suraj Mandhare while extending greetings to Muslim brethren on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, on Monday. He thanked people for celebrating Eid at home and not resorting to mass prayer.

Mandhare while in Malegaon paid a courtesy visit to the residences of Malegaon Municipal Corporation (MMC) mayor Tahera Sheikh, former MLA Rashid Sheikh and sitting MLA Maulana Mufti Mohammed and wished them Eid Mubarak. Superintendent Sunil Kadasane, sub-divisional officer Vijayanand Sharma, tehsildar Chandrajit Rajput and police inspector Prabhakar Nikam were accompanied him.

On the occasion, mayor Tahera Sheikh sought help of administration in generating employment and arranging food for the hungry regularly, while MLA Maulana Mufti Mohammad underlined the importance of jakaat (act of donation) and demanded measures for sufficient availability of foodgrains in the city. “We are ensuring good health facilities for every citizen, employment through power loom business and food grains through the ration shops under public distribution system,” the collector assured.

Speaking further, he said that fasting, prayer and jakaat garner immense importance in this holy month of Ramadan. Health organizations around the world are making all-round efforts to defeat pandemic. Everyone is strictly following the instructions of the health administration and government and we expect cooperation from people to continue unabated.

We are seeing an increase in the number of patients, however, fortunately, the rate of recovery is also very high, he stated and extended Eid greetings to all, further adding that the administration is well prepared to provide better healthcare services, employment opportunities, and foodgrain facilities to the residents of Malegaon.
