Leopard rescued

NASHIK: On December 31, 2021, another leopard fell into well on the night of December 30. Fortunately, the leopard was rescued from the well at Puri village of Chandead. On Friday between 8.00 am to 8.30 am at Mauje Puri, Sarpanch Bapu Bhanwar informed the Forest Circle Officer, Wadner Bhairav, ​​by telephone about the leopard.

He informed that a leopard has fallen into a well owned by Dharma Shankar Bhanwar. With the help of the locals, a platform was lowered into the well with the help of ropes.

According to the message received, Sanjay Waghmare, Forest Range Officer, Chandwad, Forest Range Officer Devidas Chaudhary, Forest Ranger-Wadner Bhairav Vijay Tekner, Forest Ranger-Paregaon Valmik Vargal, Forest Ranger Mesankhede Sunil Khandare, Forest Worker Vasant Deore, Valmik Nirbhavane, Bharat Wagh, and driver Ashok Shinde rushed to the spot.

Peeking into the well above, the officials saw a leopard sitting on a platform lowered in the well. The Forest Circle Officer, Manmad Bhagwan Jadhav, called the wildlife rescue squad of the forest department.

With the help of the rescue squad, the leopard was taken into the cage which was lowered into the well after. With the help of the cage, the leopard was taken out of the well.

The cage was brought to Chandwad by a government vehicle along with the female leopard of 3 to 4 years old and was examined by the Veterinary Officer, Chandwad. On the occasion, Sarpanch Puri Bapu Bhanwar, farmers Dharma Shankar Bhanwar, Police Patil Chindhu Awhad, and villagers Vikas Bhavar, Chetan Chavan, and Vijay Jadhav assisted in the rescue operation.
