Kund revival project in Godavari river

NASHIK: A note of the work to revive ancient kunds in the Godavari river has been taken at the international level. Some days ago, the concretization of kunds in some parts of the river was removed. Of the total 17 kunds, five kunds have been revived. The note of this has been taken at the international exhibition which was held in London. A total of 159 projects from pure water, pure air, clean energy and forests sectors have been selected.

A project to revive natural water springs in the Godavari river has been included under the pure water section, informed Goda Premi Seva Samiti president and petitioner Devang Jani and Dr Prajkata Baste. London Design Biennale is a biannual design event held at Somerset House featuring installations from countries around the world. This year artistic director S Devlin has organized this exhibition. It is open in the period between June 1st to 27th, 2021.

This year the theme of the exhibition is resonance. Projects across the world have been selected for this. The eco-friendly projects from around 50 countries were sought for this. Bengaluru-based architect Nisha Matthu Ghosh and her team selected eco-friendly projects from India. A total of 150 projects from pure water, pure air, clean energy and forests sectors which are based on a principle small is beautiful were selected. A project to revive ancient kunds in the Godavari river has been included under the pure air section. This has given a boost to the concept of revival of ancient kunds in the Godavari river to make it flowing again, informed Devang Jani.
