NASHIK: The work of the committee is in full swing. Due to lack of manpower as there are vacancies for officers and staff in the committee for verification of tribal certificate. The students as well as citizens belonging to the Scheduled Tribes are facing issues. Inadequate staffing is also causing major delays in disposing of filing cases.

Another committee has been set up by the government to speed up the disposal of the case. However, due to the shortage of staff, the applicants are expressing their displeasure.

Eight committees have been set up in the state to verify the caste certificates of Scheduled Tribes citizens. The office of the committee is in Nashik Adivasi Vikas Bhavan for the citizens of Nashik, Nagar district. Under the leadership of Deputy Director a committee including Legal Officer, Senior Research Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Inspector of Police, Research Officer, Manager, Junior Administrative Officer, Research Assistant, Stenographer, Shorthand Writer, Archivist, Peon, Driver, Junior Clerk has been set up.

There is a committee of officers and staff. In this 39 posts have been sanctioned by the government and out of these 31 posts have been filled. Eight posts of Deputy Director, Legal Officer, Senior Research Officer, Research Officer and Inspector of Police are still vacant. Therefore, there is a huge delay for the committee to settle the filed cases.

Committee with inadequate staff

The second office of the Scheduled Tribes Certificate Inspection Committee has been made operational from January 10, 2022 for the convenience of the beneficiaries in view of the increasing flow of cases filed with the committee in Nashik, Nagar district.

The jurisdiction of the new committee has been fixed for Malegaon, Deola, Chandwad, Nandgaon, Niphad, Yeola, Sinnar, these talukas of Nashik district and all the talukas of Ahmednagar district. For this, 20 posts have been sanctioned by the government to the committee. But in reality, only 2 out of 20 posts have been filled. 18 posts are still vacant. All the posts are vacant except Deputy Director and Senior Research officer.
