Imposters arrested at Deolali Camp

NASHIK: An impostor named Mohammad Asad Mujibulla khan Pathan Maulana, resident of Rehman Nagar, Deolali Camp, was arrested on January 5, 2022, for posing as an ex-serviceman in Deolali Camp.

He was stopped by an army guard at 2:30 pm in Devlali Camp and asked to show his identity. Pathan told the guard he was an ex-serviceman and showed an I-card of Ex-Indian Army Security Services.

After detailed questioning by Military Intelligence and Military Police, it was learnt that an individual named Aftaf Mannan Sheikh alias Major Khan, a resident of Adke Nagar, Deolali Camp, provided him with an identity card with the Indian Army cover and silver chain.

Imposter Major Khan has been on the radar of Military Intelligence for the last year, but he could not be caught as he had moved to Mumbai. During the questioning of Aftab Mannan Sheikh alias Major Khan, pictures of both the accused (wearing army uniforms and carrying a pistol); were found.

An FIR was lodged against the accused at Devlali Camp Police Station. Further information about their movement in camp area and their motives is being sought. This imposter has been arrested within nine days of the arrest of Imposter Major Ganesh Walu Pawar on December 28, 2021.
