Hyena dies in roadkill

NASHIK: A fully grown adult male hyena died in roadkill. The incident took place at Mahiravani Road, near Anand Resort Nashik range on Monday night. The forest officials have said that the incident took place at midnight. An unidentified speedy vehicle killed the hyena. The hyena was hit so hard that it got thrown 15 feet away at the roadside.

The male hyena of around four years old died on the spot in the incident. The hyena received injuries on the head and chest, causing instant death. A speedy vehicle hit the hyena early while the animal was crossing the road. The forest officials reached the spot where the incident took place and a post-mortem was conducted by the veterinary medical officer.

The officials informed that the passerby called the forest department and informed them that a hyena is dead along the roadside. The hyena was cremated by the forest officials and a case has been registered an unidentified vehicle.
