CONDOLENCES

Big Loss......

This is a very tragic and sad news. I am very disturbed since I heard of this crash. It is a immense loss to the nation and a big personal loss to me. I am still in state of shock as something unimaginable has happened. I have had the privilege of working with Gen Rawat as his medical officer when he was the vice chief of the army staff.

The demise of Gen Rawat is a huge loss to the nation. His role in establishing the integrated defense force is phenomenal. He has done lot of work for the same. He was a forthright officer, very sincere and hardworking. He was well supported by his wife Madulika. I am also saddened by the news of her demise. When I retired from the army she organised a special lunch for me. She was more like a friend. I pray that their souls rest in peace and God gives strength to their daughters to bear the loss. - Lt Gen (Retd) Dr. Madhuri Kanitkar, Vice Chancellor, MUHS, Nashik

Deeply saddened
