“Police personnel in district rural police force were sent to Malegaon after coronavirus had spread there. We had a responsibility to distribute masks, sanitizers, PPE kits and tablets. I did not know when I came in contact with positive patients. I had fought against coronavirus with positive attitude and got cured of it. I am now joining the duty”, expressed senior police inspector of human resources department in the office of superintendent of police E K Padle.
District and police administrations had started preparations earlier when coronavirus was spreading in the world. District superintendent of police Dr Arti Singh was providing her guidance time to time about spread of coronavirus, how to contain and face it. Seniors had already estimated that coronavirus would spread rapidly in Malegaon considering crowd, financial and social conditions there.
Accordingly, seniors had focussed on Malegaon. Half of the police force had been shifted to Malegaon. Our team had reached Malegaon on April 13. After assigning duties, me and my team had assigned a work to distribute masks, sanitizers, hand gloves, PPE kits and tablets to police personnel. We had planned it properly.
“While doing this I had come in contact with positive. As I had suffered from high blood pressure one day, I had tested my swab on May 1 and received report on May 5. Accordingly, we had been instructed to admit to hospital. I had got admitted myself to a private hospital in Nashik city and took treatment. My wife, children and all relatives were worried very much during this period. As seniors had told that we could overcome coronavirus on the basis of strong immunity and positive attitude, I had no fear about corona.
After discharge from hospital on May 15, I had spent seven days in quarantine at government hostel and returned to home on May 22. Now, There is a plan to attend duty in two days again and to work shoulder to shoulder with other colleagues”, stated Padle.
