NASHIK: “Delta Plus which is a new variant of Covid-19 is a cause of concern and it is a new challenge for us. In view of prediction of third wave and emergence of new variant Delta Plus, citizens should take their care and follow a three-way formula very strictly,” appealed District Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal on Thursday.
Bhujbal on Friday took information via video conferencing about the current pandemic situation in Nashik city and district. He said that it has been stated in the meeting of Cabinet that the state government has received instructions from the central government’s advisory committee to take proper measures in view of the emergence of Delta Plus. Considering the possibility of the third wave and Delta Plus variant, citizens should avoid gathering unnecessarily.
They should also follow a three-way formula – wear a mask regularly, to maintain a social distancing and regular handwash. This will help in dealing with the new variant. There has been no change in the restrictions which have been imposed in the district under Break the Chain. Police should ensure that citizens should follow the curfew rules. As the Delta Plus variant is spread at a rapid pace in the places of a crowd, citizens should take caution to gather at tourist spots and other places without any reason. Bhujbal urged.
The district should be selfsufficient in view of medical oxygen stock. Operationalise liquid medical oxygen generation projects in the city earlier. Planning should be made for the availability of beds in the hospitals, operation theatre and necessary medicine stock, he said on the occasion. District Collector Suraj Mandhare informed in detail about the current pandemic situation and mucormycosis. He also tabled information about the measures being done for control of Covid-19. Commissioner of Police, Municipal Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad tabled information about the status of the virus in their respective areas.
