NASHIK: Through the Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation and Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Ltd (Mahapreit) company, Scheduled Castes and Neo-Buddhists should be given employment and self-employment opportunities in rural areas said Social Justice and Special Assistance Minister Dhananjay Munde.

Munde also said that the promotion of solar energy projects in a time of limited energy resources would not only provide employment but also help the government in regulating energy.
“We all need to make a concerted effort to establish our identity as a corporation leading the way for economic upliftment and not just a backward class development corporation in the future,” Munde said.
Pilot projects for entrepreneurs
Various schemes are proposed to provide employment and self-employment to the beneficiaries of Scheduled Castes in the State. Shrimali said that for the overall development of the backward classes through Mahapreit, considering climate change, a pilot project of agro-processing industry, solar projects, infrastructure will be implemented. He further said that due to the increase in fuel prices including petrol and diesel, there is a growing trend towards using electric vehicles (EVs).
