Committee formed to fix exportable grapes’ rates

NASHIK: A unanimous resolution was passed on behalf of the Maharashtra State Grape Growers Association to set up a committee of grape growers to determine the minimum market value for the export of grapes according to the production cost. For the committee set up, a special meeting of grape growers has been organized at Pimpalgaon Baswant on Thursday (23rd December).

A special meeting was held at Ojhar under the chairmanship of Vice President of Maharashtra State Grape Growers Association Kailas Bhosale regarding fixing of minimum export rates by the Maharashtra State Grape Growers Association according to the production cost of grapes. Association’s Nashik Division President Adv. Ravindra Nimse gave the introductory speech and explained the meeting’s purpose.

He spoke about the role of the grape growers’ association in determining the minimum rates based on the production cost of exportable grapes, balancing demand and supply, payment terms after purchase, knowing the production status in South Africa, Chile, Peru. Also, they discussed fixing the grape prices weekly, fortnight, monthly, and changing it according to it to the requirement, taking action in case of non-compliance as per rules, working on grievances, and receipt of deals for domestic trading and exports.

Former President of Grape Growers Association Ashokrao Gaikwad, Vasudev Kathe, Ashokrao Gaikwad, Madhukar Gawli, Suresh Kalamkar, Vilas Shinde, Yadav Kavale, Balasaheb Wagh, And Ramnath Shinde, Dattatreya Davre, Shashikant Gade, Sukrut Borade, Kiran Navale, Yogesh Kushare, and others participated in the discussion.
